Since our launch in 2013, the Brigham Digital Innovation Hub has been a leader in Boston’s healthcare innovation ecosystem.
Brigham Innovation Hub (iHub) launched in September 2013 as a resource center for innovators at Brigham and Women’s Hospital to advance their ideas for improving care. Since then iHub has evolved into a broader digital health consulting team, supporting internal innovation and also bringing in leading-edge digital solutions to create the hospital of the future.
Programs and Infrastructure
Programs and infrastructure enable all members of the hospital community to engage, from residents to information technology to human resources. iHub also brings together key players in the vibrant Boston healthcare ecosystem and beyond, through collaborations with organizations such as Microsoft, Redox, Evidation Health, and Harvard Business School.
We are excited to be disrupting from inside one of the nation’s leading academic medical centers to drive positive impact on patient care. We have support from our leadership to help digitize our healthcare system to provide all of our stakeholders with the kind of service and value that we all believe is necessary now and in the future.
Our mission is to drive more patient-centered, efficient, and safe care through use, development, evaluation and commercialization of digital health.
We do this by:
Identifying and evaluating internal and external technology to address the challenge at hand,
Matching potential solutions to meet hospital needs,
Advancing early-stage ideas from internal BWH clinicians, scientists and employees.
Within our hospital walls, our team has led internal hackathons — we call them Innovation Series — with Pulmonary, Surgery, Radiology and others to address clinical problems and pain points. It has been immensely rewarding to watch those challenges turn into solutions – products and services to improve patient care.
